50,000 Maltese people are currently living with anxiety and depression.

Kif Int’s vision is to ensure that everyone achieves their best possible mental health. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act as we cope with life. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. By sharing information on the facts, options, and solutions, we hope to promote the guidance, relief and rehabilitation of anyone going through any situation concerned with mental health.

A Word from the Founder

It is with great privilege I find myself undertaking the task of bringing the subject of mental health to the forefront of Maltese society. Around the globe today mental health dominates the headlines, something everyone in some shape or form is talking about, but in reality how much do we really know about mental health?

The truth is mental health is more often than not misunderstood and overlooked as merely something that can be brushed off and disregarded as trivial by nature. In fact the vast majority of people actually lack the understanding and knowledge to properly appreciate the severity of the illness, the suffering it entails, and the people who are left in the darkness without hope or support.

The overriding aim through this initiative is to therefore bring mental health to the forefront of society, thus teaching people understanding, guidance and compassion towards the battle of anyone who is struggling with any form of mental illness. This renewed understanding can help foster a more grounded society, driven by empathy, connections and a willingness to listen and learn.
A better understanding of what mental health actually entails is a reflection of a society that is more in touch with their basic human responsibility to themselves and each other.

I sincerely hope that the resources, information and advice found here within can help give people that guidance, inspiration and hope when they feel they have nowhere to turn.

I’d like to finally thank Daniella Calleja Bitar & Svetlana Gatt from Richmond who are clearly part angel and part human – both parts being immeasurably kind and gifted. Mario Cachia Caruana and Matthew Spiteri from SANCHO whose creative genius and direction guided us to realise this entire project. And finally I would like to thank John Mallia whose brilliant imagination and philosophical heart lives within me everyday, and of course all the other wonderful individuals who shared their stories, their fights, their truths. I salute you.
